What birth defects are caused by cleanroom chemical exposure?

Genetic damage to sperm and egg cells may result multiple birth defects.

Birth defects from cleanroom chemical exposure can include the following:

Missing Arms, Legs, or Fingers

Retardation

Stillbirth

Blindness

Skeletal Abnormalities

Mental and Developmental Impairment.

Organ Deformation, including (but not limited to) the heart, kidneys, lungs, or liver.

Early Death as a result of exposure.

There may be other hidden birth defects or genetic damage that is not as readily apparent from the exposure to glycol ethers, semiconductor chemicals, etching materials, and EGEs. If you are the mother or father of a child who has birth defects, and you worked in a cleanroom where any of these chemicals may have been present, then you owe it to yourself and your child to make sure that your rights are protected.

Notes and Special Information

Special note: Nothing on this site is intended as a substitute for legal advice. Clenarooms are only clean in the sense that they are dust-free environments, they may have volatile chemicals in the air that pass right through dust filters and get into your system. Like any industrial activity, the potential for chemical exposure and birth defects is not limited to cleanrooms.
